It is about 10m. It is made by the technique called Azekura-zukuri, which involves the cutting of large camphor trees into round slices and stacking them up on top of each other.

- What will the donations be used for?

Donations will be used for the construction cost of a new housing to accomodate St. Mary of Harajo as well as the transportation cost of the statue from Mr. Oyamatsu’s atelier in Fujisawa city in Kanagawa prefecture to Minamishimabara city in Nagasaki prefecture. Donations will also cover the cost of erecting the statue and final sculpting works once it is housed.
